Why screenshot dimensions matter

App Store Connect rejects screenshot uploads whose pixel dimensions don't exactly match one of Apple's accepted sizes. A screenshot that's even a pixel off — often the result of a status bar, a scaled simulator capture, or an exported mockup — will fail to upload and block your submission. Validating dimensions before you open App Store Connect saves a frustrating round trip.

What this validator checks

  • Exact pixel dimensions against every accepted iPhone and iPad size
  • Portrait and landscape orientations (Apple accepts either)
  • Whether each size is one of Apple's currently required dimensions
  • File format is PNG or JPEG, the only types the App Store accepts
