Apple Fee Calculator

Apple’s App Store commission is usually 30% of the tax-exclusive proceeds from a paid app or IAP. If you’re enrolled in the App Store Small Business Program and you (plus associated accounts) had $1M or less in proceeds last calendar year, that rate is 15% — until you cross $1M in the current year, when future sales flip to 30% (no clawback). Auto-renewing subscriptions drop to 15% from year 2 of that subscriber even outside SBP. This calculator estimates what you keep; VAT depends on storefront, so treat tax as an optional input. Not tax or legal advice. For EU rates from 1 Oct 2026, see EU App Store fees 2026.

15% vs 30%

Standard App Store commission is 30%. The App Store Small Business Program is 15% if you (plus associated accounts) had $1M or less in proceeds in the prior calendar year. Cross $1M in the current year and future sales flip to 30%. There is no clawback on the 15% sales you already made while eligible.

Subscriptions

Year 1 of an auto-renewing subscription uses your standard or SBP rate. From year 2 of that subscriber, the rate is 15% even if you are not in the Small Business Program. This calculator’s “Sub year 2+” mode applies that 15% to the amount you enter — it does not model churn, trials, or family sharing.

VAT

In Apple’s proceeds math, Customer Price − taxes − commission = proceeds. EU list prices are tax-inclusive. Turn on “Price includes VAT” to strip tax first (price / (1 + VAT%)), then apply 15% or 30% to the tax-exclusive base. Leave the toggle off if the amount you entered is already net of tax.

What this is not

This is not App Store Connect, not tax advice, and not the October 2026 EU fee table. It does not apply 26% / 20% / 5% CTC, link-out windows, or alternative distribution. For those EU storefront rates, use the EU App Store fees 2026 guide.
