Spam: duplicate, template, and low-differentiation risk

Guideline 4.3 can apply when Apple sees the app as a duplicate, template clone, repeated submission, or low-differentiation variation of existing apps.

Developers rejected for spam, duplicate apps, templates, or repeated submissions. Guideline 4.3

Common triggers

Multiple apps share the same template, content, or functionality with minor branding changes.

The app category is crowded and the metadata does not show meaningful differentiation.

The app appears to duplicate an existing app from the same developer account.

Fix checklist

Consolidate related apps when appropriate.

Add clear unique functionality, content, or audience-specific value.

Rewrite metadata and screenshots to prove what is distinct.

Reviewer reply angle

Show concrete differentiation, not just brand language.

If you consolidated or removed duplicate content, say exactly what changed.

Check spam rejection risk

Analyze whether your metadata and feature set look too duplicated for App Review.
