Accurate Metadata: keep every claim aligned with the app

Guideline 2.3 is where screenshot, description, keyword, claim, and App Store product page issues often surface. Apple expects metadata to describe the submitted app accurately and not mislead users or reviewers.

Common triggers

Screenshots show marketing art, splash screens, or claims that are not clearly available in the app.

Descriptions mention features, prices, platforms, or integrations that do not match the submitted build.

Metadata uses competitor names, trademarked terms, inappropriate claims, or real personal data.

Fix checklist

Compare every screenshot and sentence against the actual submitted binary.

Remove unverifiable claims and replace them with concrete, in-app functionality.

Rewrite keywords and captions to avoid competitor, trademark, or misleading language.

Reviewer reply angle

If you changed screenshots or metadata, summarize the exact fields updated.

If Apple misunderstood a screenshot, explain what screen it shows and how to reach it in the app.
